SECTION 001100 – ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Project Description

MONROE #1 BOCES invites bids for the following contract:

1. General Trades

2. Mechanical

3. Plumbing

4. Electrical

For the proposed “MONROE #1 BOCES 2024 CIP – Phase 1” located in Fairport, New York 14450.

The project consists of various capital improvements located at (2) two buildings throughout the

Monroe One BOCES campus.

Construction start date May 5, 2025.

Bid Time and Location

Sealed bids for the above Contract will be received by Lisa Ryan, at MONROE #1 BOCES, 41

O’Connor Road, Business Office S2, Fairport, New York 14450, until: 4:00pm local time on February

12, 2025. The bids will then be publicly opened and read aloud at 4:15pm at the same address in

Cafeteria room #H-9.

Bid Documents

Bidding Documents will be available as of Monday January 20th, 2025 at 1:00pm.

The foregoing is a general outline of work only and shall not be construed as a complete description of

the work to be performed under each contract. Plans and specifications are available for inspection at

the following location(s) and/or may be obtained upon by payment according to the instructions below:

Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained at: Rotolite-Elliott, 1 Grove Street, Pittsford, New

York 14534, Phone: 585-385-1463, upon deposit of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per set. Checks shall

be made payable to the MONROE 1 BOCES, but sent to Rotolite Elliott at the address above.

Contact the Branch Manager: Matt Elliott in advance for pick-up, or to provide shipping account

information for expedited delivery. Bidders wishing sets of Plans and Specifications to be mailed to them

shall include, in addition to the document deposit, a non-refundable check in the amount of Fifty Dollars

($50.00) per set for handling and postage, sent and made payable to Rotolite Elliott, 1 Grove Street,

Pittsford, New York 14534.

In lieu of paper bid sets, bidders can view electronic plans and specifications online upon a $59

nonrefundable payment by visiting www.recplanroom.com (Click Public Jobs under the Menu Tab on the

left hand side of the plan room homepage. Once you are in the public plan room please select the link for

A Bidder, making the deposit required for the Bidding Documents, submitting a Proposal accompanied

by a certified check or other security in accordance with the requirements contained in the plans and

specifications and public advertisement for bids and if the copy of the plans and specifications used by

such Bidder, other than the successful Bidder is returned in good condition within thirty (30) days to

Rotolite Elliot (address above) award of the contract covered by such plans and specifications, or

rejection of the Bid, the full amount of such deposit for one copy of the plans and specifications shall be

returned to such Bidder, including the successful Bidder. Partial reimbursement, in an amount equal to the

full amount of such deposit for one set of plans and specifications per unsuccessful bidder or non- bidder

less the actual cost of reproduction of the plans and specifications, shall be made for the return of all other

copies of the plans and specifications in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of the

contract or the rejection of the bids covered by such plans and specifications.

Questions From Bidders

All questions in regards to the meaning of the plans, specifications, or other contract documents

will not be made verbally.

Pre-Bid Walk-Through

A Pre-Bid Walk-Through will take place on Thursday January 30th, 2025 at 4:00PM Meet in

Foreman Center Cafeteria room #H-9 (enter at Door 1)

Supplemental Bid Information

Attention of the Bidder is particularly called to the Owner's sales tax exemption, the requirements as to

conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. In

addition, the Bidding Documents for this project contain detailed requirements for the qualification of

Bidders. These include, among other things, rigid bonding and insurance requirements, financial

statements, bank references, lists of lawsuits, arbitrations or other proceedings in which the Bidder has

been named as a party, a statement of surety's intent to issue Performance and Payment Bonds, and a

description of other projects of similar size and scope completed by the Bidder.

Bids shall be prepared as set forth in “INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS”, enclosed in a sealed envelope

bearing on its face the name and address of the Bidder and the title of the Work to which the bid enclosed

relates.

Each Bidder shall deposit with its bid, security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base

bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the “INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.”

No Bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual bid opening.

The Board of Education reserves the right to waive any and all informalities in or to reject any or all bids.

The Owner further reserves its right to disqualify Bidders for any material failure to comply with the

“INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS” and “SUPPLEMENTARY INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.”
