ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Village of Cohocton will receive sealed bids for the Village of Cohocton Mechanical Backup Well
Project, Contract 2 – Well Field Improvements.
Sealed Bids will be received, and bids publicly opened and read at the following place and time:

Contract ‘No. 2 – Well Field Improvements: The project consists principally of providing a new
mechanical backup groundwater well to replace an existing well and associated well field
improvements. Work under this contract shall generally include: mobilization, utility location,
protection of existing facilities, protection of environment and water supply, temporary facilities,
providing all equipment and labor necessary to install new submersible pumps into an existing
municipal well and a new municipal well (installed under Contract 1), including associated pitless
unit, check valves, pump columns, connecting piping, valves, fencing, VFDs, electrical connections,
wiring, conduits, controls, disinfection, chemical feed equipment, start up, pump testing,
commissioning, equipment removal and permanent abandonment of existing well, site work, clean
up, restoration, and preparation of record drawings.
The Contract associated with the work contains MBE/WBE and EEO requirements. Minority and
Women’s Business Enterprises and Section 3 firms are encouraged to apply.
This project is funded under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, as
administered by the NYS Office of Community Renewal and is subject to the provisions of Section 3
of the HUD Act of 1968, as amended and other CDBG Program regulations. Prospective bidders
should review the CDBG requirements included in the contract documents.
The foregoing is a general outline of work only and shall not be construed as a complete description
of the work to be performed under the contract. Plans and specifications are available for inspection
at the following location(s) and may be obtained upon payment of seventy-five ($75) dollars for each
set of documents requested.

If you would like Plans and Specifications mailed to you, please enclose an additional check for
twenty-five ($25) per set made payable to the Village of Cohocton. This option is only available

Bidding Documents also may be examined online with an online payment by visiting

homepage. Once you are in the public plan room, please select the link for the Village of Cohocton

Refunds for payment of one (1) copy of the Plans and Specifications will be made to those
submitting Bids on the forms furnished, if returned in good condition to the Village Clerk within thirty
(30) days from the award of the contract.
The successful bidder(s) must self-perform at a minimum 50% of the contracted work.
Bids must be made in writing on the forms furnished and shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee
for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid in accordance with the
INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.
The Village of Cohocton is exempt under New York State Tax law, and therefore, no sales tax on the
cost of materials incorporated into the project shall be included in the bid.
The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory performance and labor and
material bonds in accordance with the INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.
The Village of Cohocton reserves the right to consider bids for forty-five (45) days after the receipt
before awarding any contract. The Village of Cohocton further reserves the right to reject any and all
bids, and to accept any Proposal or individual item or items, which it may deem to be the most
favorable to its best interests.
All bidding questions or Requests for Information must be submitted by 5:00 pm on July 5, 2023.
