ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Town of Brighton, Monroe County, New York will receive sealed bids for the construction of
BARN ADDITION. The project is for the construction of an addition to the existing masonry barn at 1435
Westfall Road for an assembly space that will serve as the Town of Brighton Winter Farmers Market.
Sealed Bids will be received and bids publicly opened and read at the following place and time:

Time: 4:00 P.M. local time
The project is for the construction of a 3,742 square foot addition to the existing masonry barn for an
assembly space that will serve as the Town of Brighton Winter Farmers Market. The addition consists of
the connector which serves as the main entrance and links the old barn to the new market shed structure.
The scope of work consists of the construction of the connector and market shed structures including:
concrete foundation system; structural steel frame; SIP building envelope; daylight panel openings;
storefront entrance systems; interior finish and trim work; exterior cladding and flashing; metal and
membrane roofs; and complete heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, sprinkler and alarm systems.
Separate Sealed bids will be received for:
Contract No. 1 – Contract #1: General Trades
Contract No. 2 – Contract #2: Plumbing
Contract No. 3 – Contract #3: HVAC
Contract No. 4 – Contract #4: Electrical
Bids shall be on a lump sum basis as indicated on the Bid Form.
The foregoing is a general outline of work only and shall not be construed as a complete description of the
work to be performed under each contract. The Contract Documents are available for inspection at the
above location and at the Builders Exchange of Rochester, 180 Linden Oaks, Suite 100, Rochester, NY
14625.

The Bidding Documents must be obtained through Rotolite – Elliott Corporation in order to be considered
a Plan Holder of Record. Bidding Documents obtained from any other source are for examination only,
are not considered complete and are not valid for bidding purposes. Further, the date that the Bidding
Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Agency will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the
Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Agency.
Neither Town of Brighton, nor Design Professional of Record, nor Rotolite – Elliott Corporation will be
responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources
other than the Issuing Agency.
The last day to submit a Request for Information (RFI) is ten (10) business days prior to the bid due

Bids must be made in writing on the forms furnished and shall be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee for an
amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid in accordance with the INSTRUCTIONS TO
BIDDERS.
The Town of Brighton is exempt under New York State Tax law, and therefore, no sales tax on the cost of
materials incorporated into the project shall be included in the bid.
The Town of Brighton, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat.
252, 42 US. C.§§ 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively
ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises
will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be
discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award.
All prices bid shall be good for a period of sixty (60) days after opening. The Town of Brighton reserves the
right to consider bids for sixty (60) days after their receipt before awarding any contract. The Town of
Brighton further reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to accept any Proposal or individual item
or items, which it may deem to be the most favorable to its best interests.
A Noncollusive Bidding Certificate shall be included with each bid.
The attention of the Bidder is called to the requirements as to the conditions of employment and the
minimum wage rates to be paid under this contract.
The Contractor, by bidding on the contract, acknowledges his or her understanding and support of this
policy and pledges to fully cooperate within the Town of Brighton in meeting State requirements as set forth
in the Bidding and Contract Documents.
