SECTION 001112– ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Belfast Central School District invites bids for, GENERAL CONSTRUCTION, MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION, ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION, PLUMBING CONSTRUCTION, THEATRICAL CONSTRUCTION AND SITE CONSTRUCTION for the 2018 Capital Improvements Project –located in Belfast, New York. Separate sealed bids will be received by BCS at, 1 King Street, Belfast, New York until 2:00pm local time on October 15th, 2019, at which time they will publicly opened and read aloud. Bidding Documents may be examined in the Office of the Architect/Engineer, CPL, at 130 South Union Street, Suite Four, Olean, NY 14760, 716-701-7006 (Ryne Wight) and at the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds Office at the BCS.
Hard copies of the Bidding Documents may be purchased by Contractors, Subcontractors and Vendors, through Rotolite-Elliott 585-385-1463 for the nonrefundable cost of $75. Checks shall be payable to Belfast Central School District and delivered to Rotolite-Elliott Corporation, One Grove Street-Suite 123, Pittsford, NY 14534. Bidders requesting drawing sets shipped via UPS or FEDEX are required to provide their shipping numbers to Rotolite-Elliott, prior to shipping. Bidders remain responsible for shipping costs, which are payable to Rotolite-Elliott. Electronic Bid Documents will be made available only with the purchase of the printed sets at no additional cost. A Pre-Bid Conference for the Project will be conducted by the Architect/Engineer on September 18th, 2019 at 10:00am at Belfast Central School. It is recommended that contractors be familiar with the construction documents prior to attending the scheduled pre-bid conference.
Belfast Central School hereby reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all Bids or to accept the one that in its judgment will be in the best interest of Belfast Central School.
Attention of the Bidder is particularly called to the Owner’s sales tax exemption, the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. In addition, the Bidding Documents for this project contain detailed requirements for the qualification of Bidders. These include, among other things, rigid bonding and insurance requirements, financial statements, bank references, lists of lawsuits, arbitrations or other proceedings in which the Bidder has been named as a party, a statement of surety’s intent to issue Performance and Payment Bonds, and a description of other projects of similar size and scope completed by the Bidder. Bidders will comply with New York State prevailing wage and supplement requirements which must be
complied with on the Project.
