THE BRIGHTON CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT invites bids for five (5) separate prime contracts including: GENERAL TRADES Contract # 300, SITE Contract # 301, HVAC Contract
  1. , PLUMBING, Contract # 303 and ELECTRICAL Contract #304 ; for the 2017 CAPITAL
    FACILITIES IMPROVEMENT PROJECT. Separate sealed bids will be received at the District
    Office, at Brighton Central School District, 2035 Monroe Avenue, Rochester, New York 14618
    until 3:30 P.M., local time on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at which time they will be publicly
    opened and read aloud in the Brighton Central School District Administration Building
    Conference Room 229.

Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained beginning on 11-06-2018 from Rotolite-
Elliott Corporation, 1 Grove Street, P.O. Box 97, Pittsford, New York 14534 upon receipt of a
check or money order payable to the Brighton Central School District in the amount of: One
Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per set. A Bidder, making the deposit required for the Bidding
Documents, submitting a Proposal accompanied by a certified check or other security in
accordance with the requirements contained in the plans and specifications and public
advertisement for bids and if the copy of the plans and specifications used by such Bidder, other
than the successful Bidder is returned in good condition within thirty (30) days following the
award of the contract covered by such plans and specifications, or rejection of the Bid, the full
amount of such deposit for one copy of the plans and specifications shall be returned to such
Bidder, including the successful Bidder. Partial reimbursement, in an amount equal to the full
amount of such deposit for one set of plans and specifications per unsuccessful bidder or nonbidder
less the actual cost of reproduction of the plans and specifications, shall be made for the
return of all other copies of the plans and specifications in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of the contract or the rejection of the bids covered by such plans and

Bidders wishing to have the paper sets of Plans and Specifications shipped to them shall
provide their shipping company account number to Rorlite-Elliott, for the shipping cost to be
applied to the bidder’s account.

A pre-bid conference for the Project will be conducted by the Construction Manager on
Wednesday, 11-14-2018 at 4:00 P.M., at the Brighton Central School District, on 600 Grosvenor
Road, Rochester, New York, 14610; to provide bidders with an important informational session
about the project and its working requirements. A walk-through of the school building will follow the
pre-bid conference, for those bidders who may request it. The pre-bid conference will be for all
contracts, and it is strongly recommended that all potential bidders attend.

Attention of the Bidder is particularly called to the Owner’s sales tax exemption, the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed and the minimum wage rates to bepaid under the contract. In addition, the Bidding Documents for this project contain detailed requirements for the qualification of Bidders. These include, among other things, rigid bonding and insurance requirements, financial statements, bank references, lists of lawsuits, arbitrations or other proceedings in which the Bidder has been named as a party, a statement of surety’s intent to issue Performance and Payment Bonds, and a description of other projects of similar size and scope completed by the Bidder.

Bids shall be prepared as set forth in “INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS”, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing on its face the name and address of the Bidder and the title of the Work to
which the bid enclosed relates.

Each Bidder shall deposit with its bid, security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of
the base bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the “INSTRUCTIONS TO

The Board of Education reserves the right to waive any and all informalities in or to reject any or
all bids.

The Owner further reserves its right to disqualify Bidders for any material failure to comply with
