SECTION 001112– ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
THE BYRON-BERGEN CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT invites bids for GENERAL CONSTRUCTION and ROOFING CONSTRUCTION Work as part of the 2017 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT – PHASE 1, located at 6917 Bergen Road, Bergen, New York 14416. Separate sealed bids will be received by Byron-Bergen Central School District at, District Office, 6917
Bergen Road, Bergen, New York 14416 until 3:00 P.M, local time on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at which time they will publicly opened and read aloud.
Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained beginning on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, 12:00 pm
from ROTOLITE-ELLIOTT Corporation, 1 Grove Street, P.O. Box 97, Pittsford, NY, 14534, (585) 385-
1463 telephone, (585) 385-2190 fax, upon receipt of a check or money order payable to Byron-Bergen Central School District in the amount of: One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per set. A Bidder making the deposit required for the Bidding Documents, submitting a Proposal accompanied by a certified check or other security in accordance with the requirements contained in the plans and specifications and public advertisement for bids, and if the copy of the plans and specifications used by such Bidder is returned in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of the contract covered by such plans and specifications, or rejection of the Bid, the full amount of such deposit for one copy of the plans and specifications shall be returned to such Bidder. Partial reimbursement, in an amount equal to the full amount of such deposit for one set of plans and specifications per unsuccessful bidder or non-bidder less the actual cost of reproduction of the plans and specifications, shall be made for the return of all other copies of the plans and specifications in good condition within thirty (30) days following the award of the contract, or the rejection of the bids, covered by such plans and specifications.
Bidders wishing sets of Plans and Specifications mailed to them shall include, in addition to the document deposit, a non-refundable check in the amount of Forty Dollars ($40.00) per set for handling and postage. All checks shall be made payable to ROTOLITE-ELLIOTT CORP for shipping and handling.

Attention of the Bidder is particularly called to the Owner’s sales tax exemption, the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed, and the minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. In addition, the Bidding Documents for this project contain detailed requirements for the qualification of Bidders. These include, among other things, rigid bonding and insurance requirements, financial statements, bank references, lists of lawsuits, arbitrations or other proceedings in which the Bidder has been named as a party, a statement of Surety’s intent to issue Performance and Payment Bonds, and a description of other projects of similar size and scope completed by the Bidder.
A Pre-Bid Conference for the Project will be conducted by the Construction Manager on Tuesday, May
15, 2018, at 3:00 P.M, Byron-Bergen Central School District at District Office, 6917 Bergen Road, Bergen, New York 14416.
Bids shall be prepared as set forth in “INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS”, enclosed in a sealed envelope bearing on its face the name and address of the Bidder and the title of the Work to which the bid enclosed relates.
Each Bidder shall deposit with its bid, security in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid in the form and subject to the conditions provided in the “INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.”
No Bidder may withdraw his bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual bid opening.
The Board of Education reserves the right to waive any and all informalities in or to reject any or all bids. The Owner further reserves its right to disqualify Bidders for any material failure to comply with the
“INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.”
