NOTICE TO BIDDERS
NOTICE IS HERBY GIVEN that sealed bids are sought and requested by the City of Canandaigua, Canandaigua, New York, according to plans and specifications for renovation of the existing Department of Public Works Hurley Building and construction of a new pre- engineered metal storage building as prepared by HBT Architects, 2 Elton Street, Rochester, New York 14607. Both are located at 205 Saltonstall Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
Separate bids will be accepted for General Construction, HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical work as set forth in the Contract Documents.
There will be a pre-bid meeting Thursday, October 12 at 11:00 am prevailing time at the site,
205 Saltonstall Street, Canandaigua, NY 14424. Attendance is not mandatory.
Sealed bids will be received by the Canandaigua Department of Public Works, 205 Saltonstall Street, Canandaigua, NY, 14424. Bids may be delivered any time between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm on Friday, October 27, 2017. No bids will be accepted after 3:00 pm. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. No bidder may withdraw their bid within ninety (90) calendar days after bid opening. Any bid may be withdrawn prior to the time for the opening of bids.
All bids submitted must include signed bidding certifications required by New York State General Municipal Law Sections 103-d and 103-g. These forms have been incorporated into the Form of Proposal.
All bids submitted must include signed copies of the Unit Prices form.
A maximum of one (1) set of Bid Documents and Drawings may be obtained by each bidder for a deposit of $75.00. Documents will be available from the Rotolite-Elliott, 1 Grove Street #123, Pittsford, NY 14534. The Contract Documents will be available after 9:00 am, Monday, October 9, 2017. The deposits will be refunded upon return of clean, complete sets of Bid Documents and Drawings. Deposits will not be refunded beyond (30) calendar days from the bid due date. Deposit checks shall be made payable to the City of Canandaigua.
Other means of obtaining or viewing bid documents are:
• Hard copies of bid documents can be sent via mail for a non-refundable fee of $35.00. (postage fee payable to Rotolite Elliott Corporation + a refundable deposit check of
$75.00 made payable to the City of Canandaigua)
• Bid document files may also be viewed and downloaded with a non-refundable fee of
$49.00 at www.recplanroom.com. (fee payable to Rotolite Elliott Corporation)
When requesting Bid Documents, a prospective bidder must provide Rotolite-Elliott with the firm’s name, telephone number, fax number and email address. All addenda will be issued via email.
Drawings and Contract Documents may be examined at F. W. Dodge/McGraw Hill, 320 North Goodman Street, Rochester, New York 14607 and Builder’s Exchange, 180 Linden Oaks, Rochester, New York 14625.
Bidders shall not include sales and compensating use taxes in the cost of materials that are to be incorporated into this project.
All work under this Contract shall comply with all applicable ordinances, regulations, codes, and laws, and with all rules of the State of New York Department of Labor. This is a State of New York “Prevailing Wage Rate” project.
