SECTION 001112– ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

THE BOARD OF EDUCATION for the YORK CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT invites bids for
MECHANICAL, ELECTRICAL, and THEATRICAL construction work as part of the 2014-2015
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTPHASE III, located at the York Central School facility. Separate sealed bids will be received by the YORK CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT at the DISTRICT OFFICES, 2578 Genesee Street, Retsof, NY, 14539, until 2:00 PM, local time, on THURSDAY, JUNE 29th, 2017, at which time they will publicly opened and read aloud.

Bidding Documents may be examined in the Office of the Architect/Engineer, Clark Patterson Lee, at 205
St. Paul Street, Suite 500, Rochester, NY 14604-1122.

Copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained by Prime Contractors, Subcontractors, and Vendors, at Rotolite-Elliot Corporation, 1 Grove Street, P.O. Box 97, Pittsford, NY 14534, Phone: (585) 385-
1463, Fax: (585) 385-2190, upon deposit of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per set. All Bid Deposit checks shall be made out to YORK CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT.

Bidding documents may be picked-up at Rotolite-Elliott, Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 5:00, or be delivered via UPS or FedEx upon request to Rotolite-Elliott. Include, in addition to the document
deposit, a non-refundable check in the amount of Thirty-Five Dollars ($35.00) per set for handling and postage of sets to be mailed. All checks shall be made payable to the ROTOLITE-ELLIOTT CORPORATION. Alternatively, bidders can provide their UPS or FedEx shipper # for shipment of bid documents.

Any Bidder, upon returning such set in good condition within (14) days after date set for Bid opening, will be refunded the deposit. Sets shall be returned to the Construction Manager’s satellite office, c/o York Central School District, 2578 Genesee Street, Retsof, NY 14539. The deposit will not be refunded to any Non-bidders or Bidders returning the Bidding Documents after the (14) day return period.

For the convenience of prospective Bidders, Subcontractors, and Material Suppliers, Bidding Documents will also be on file at the following locations:

A Pre-Bid Conference for the Project will be conducted by the Architect on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21st,
2017, at 1:00 PM, at the school’s AUDITORIUM, 2578 Genesee Street, Retsof, NY 14539. Immediately following the pre-bid meeting there will be a tour of the project sites. All interested parties are strongly urged to attend. This will be the only opportunity to view the site.

Bids shall be on the Bid form provided in the documents, prepared and set forth in the Instructions to Bidders, and enclosed in an envelope bearing on its face the name and address of the bidder and the title of work to which the proposal relates.

The York Central School District hereby reserves the right to waive any informalities and reject any or all Bids or to accept the one that in its judgment will be in the best interest of the School District. The awarding of the Contract will be subject to the approval of the State Education Department. Attention of the Bidder is particularly called to the Owner’s sales tax exemption, the requirements as to conditions of employment to be observed, and the minimum wage rates to be paid under the contract. In addition, the Bidding

Documents for this project contain detailed requirements for the qualification of Bidders. These include, among other things, rigid bonding and insurance requirements, financial statements, bank references, lists of lawsuits, arbitrations or other proceedings in which the Bidder has been named as a party, a statement of surety’s intent to issue Performance and Payment Bonds, and a description of other projects of similar size and scope completed by the Bidder.
